The acts of smiling and laughing are good for us because they help the brain release feel-good chemicals. Humour is also relaxing and calms anxiety. Perhaps a sense of humour is the most important tool we have to help us learn life\u2019s lessons. A chicken said to a pig: Isn\u2019t it awesome that we both have a part in the great British breakfast of bacon and eggs? Yes, replied the pig, but you just contribute, while I make a full commitment. With humour we can learn and remember truths that change our attitudes. Am I ready to use humour to help my recovery?<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-black-color has-cyan-bluish-gray-background-color has-text-color has-background has-link-color wp-elements-91afe91064f0ed8eeeb5f5a2c484cc9c\"><strong>Recovery is there to be enjoyed positively and shared laughter ha power as great as anything serious. The ancient Greeks gave tragedy and comedy equal status. Humour helps us see things in differently. The direst situations can appear more manageable with the injection of humour. Addiction is a serious business but humour can be one of the tools I use to achieve recovery. I wish to be \u2018better than well\u2019 and that certainly includes laughter.
