Be proactive because doing nothing is dangerous. If you are in recovery, then you are being stalked \u2013 by your addiction. Here are some strategies to use:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li class=\"has-black-color has-text-color has-link-color wp-elements-99bba71b7c4bbf4d0a2ca5fe2423aef9\"><strong>Plan each day carefully to keep yourself safe<\/strong><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Have someone to turn to for help at any time<\/strong><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Have a safe place to go to<\/strong><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Always carry a phone to sound the alarm<\/strong><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Avoid being alone<\/strong><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Join a group of people with similar experiences<\/strong><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Train yourself in self-defence<\/strong><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Learn the art of saying \u2018push off\u2019 assertively<\/strong><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Consider having counselling<br>Do not underestimate the power of addiction to reclaim you. Am I being vigilant because addiction follows me?<\/strong><br><strong>I must always remember that I am an addicted person, and that addiction is after me. I must always take the hunt seriously. It is not a game of hide-and-seek but a blood sport. I will need all the help that I can get.
