For a start, we can shed some burdens:<\/strong><strong><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"has-cyan-bluish-gray-background-color has-background wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Make sure that we have addressed the past and made amends <\/strong><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>We must do Steps Four to Seven<\/strong><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Stop worrying about the future and focus on today<\/strong><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Hand life\u2019s daily problems over to a Higher Power.<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-cyan-bluish-gray-background-color has-background\"><strong>Having shed these three burdens, we can try some new ideas:<\/strong><strong><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"has-cyan-bluish-gray-background-color has-background wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Cultivate friendships, perhaps in the fellowships<\/strong><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Explore new interests<\/strong><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Discover the pleasure in helping others.<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-black-color has-cyan-bluish-gray-background-color has-text-color has-background has-link-color wp-elements-56416d80616c87de40642b0ade79915a\"><strong>We should always remember that happiness comes as a result of good actions. Am I ready to build a happy recovery, with the help of my Twelve Step group?<\/strong><strong><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-black-color has-cyan-bluish-gray-background-color has-text-color has-background has-link-color wp-elements-c9d7452dc0b2f289d514ae632bca9b23\"><strong>The American psychologist M Scott Peck, in his book The Road Less Travelled, spoke about the blessing of alcoholism because it puts people into a visible state of crisis for which there is a ready- made therapeutic community \u2013 an AA group. How fortunate we are to have the fellowships.
