Feelings
Self-discipline and love are connected, in fact any
true relationship is disciplined, including that with
oneself. I must make sure that my love is managed
in the way that is most beneficial to the recipient.
Self-discipline should mean that we control our
feelings to the best of our ability. Feelings such as
anger or fear are great motivators for action, but we
should treat them with respect – they are ours to
understand and to nurture. When our feelings
become inflamed or frozen, these are warning signs
of something wrong and that action is needed. Do I
understand the need to control my feelings?
There is nothing wrong with being passionate about
any person or thing that enters your life. But be
aware of your feelings and the way that they are
connected to your thoughts and actions. Don’t let
your passions blow aimlessly hither and thither, like
leaves in the wind. May I learn to control and
nurture my feelings so that they can energise my life.
