Remember Mindfulness – review expectations
Step Five
Step Four is known as the Step of courage and Step
Five, where we: Admitted to God, to ourselves and to
another human being the exact nature of our wrongs,
require courage too. Of course, all of the Steps
require courage so it’s a good thing that we’re
generally braver than we believe. The important
thing is to take that first small venture into the
unknown. Our Higher Power will not let us down.
Am I ready to trust in the help of my Higher Power?
He who has courage despises the future. The words of
the Roman Emperor and philosopher Marcus
Aurelius tell us that he who makes the most of the
present has no need to fear the future. We may
procrastinate, we may even say that time itself will
change things but, in reality, the only way to make
change happen is for us to make that change
happen, a day at a time. When we do so, our life will
become like a book where each chapter is an
improvement on the one before. I ask for God’s help
to find the courage to admit my wrongs because
without doing so, I cannot grow in my recovery.
